  • Wanted to drive significant awareness of SquareTrade warranty services around the new iPhone 4S
  • Had no way to automate, track, and manage referrals through social promotions
  • Needed tools to grow sales through word-of-mouth referrals from its existing customer base

Solution: 

  • Launched an Extole Social Referral program to drive referrals from SquareTrade’s current advocates
  • Offered $10 to the referrer for each friend who purchased a warranty from SquareTrade, or $100 for every 5 friends who made a purchase. Referred friends received a $5 discount on their warranty purchases; Incentivized sharing via Facebook, Twitter, Email, Blogger and personal URLs
  • Improved brand awareness, increased new customer acquisition, and boosted sales

Results: 5 Weeks After Launch

  • Identified over 20,000 brand advocates
  • Averaged 5 shares per advocate
