  • Running a more engaging promotion than the typical Facebook Sweepstakes, reaching beyond its fan-base of 350,000 to engage the friends of its fans 
  • Capturing marketing opt-ins to build out its marketing list
  • Taking advantage of the latest capabilities of Facebook’s Open Graph

Solution: 

  • Launced an Extole Social Promotion, The Back to School Instant Win Sweepstakes, which allowed consumers to enter daily to win a $100 gift card
  • To foster additional sharing, if a participant didn’t win, they could refer a friend via Facebook or Twitter and, if the friend won, they won as well
  • Participation required name, email and a marketing opt-in
  • The Retailer purchased custom Sponsored Stories of “entered a sweepstakes” stories to boost visibility of the story and participation

Results

Results: 

  • Nearly 28,000 unique entrants (average of 3.9 entries per participant)
  • 14 million impressions
  • 107,000 organic Open Graph stories which was broadcast to the Timeline, News Feed and Ticker
